Hi there,
I had an old Sagem Freeview box that was connected via the aerial input to an old TV that didn't have a SCART input. The box seemed to brick itself last week, so I tried to get another one. I tried a couple of cheap ones from Asda (another SAGEM and ONN), but they only gave an output via SCART. Are there still any boxes out there that will feed a signal in through the aerial? Thanks Simon |

If you can't find one, you could always get one of these http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?...source=15&SD=Y |

TVonics MFR-200 http://www.tvonics.com/images/MFR-200.pdf Available from Argos http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?searchTerms=5321375 TVonics also do a similar box with SCART in addition to RF, the MFR-300. -- Phil Cook looking north over the park to the "Westminster Gasworks" |

I was looking at an RF modulator in Maplin the other day. I think that would definitely be a last resort! Well, I suppose buying a new TV would be the ultimate last resort :-/ |

However, it's only for a little 15" TV in the bedroom, so I didn't really want to put any more kit up there. For some reason, my wife complained when I used to have a Linux server in the bedroom... I've decided to do something obvious and buy a direct replacement for my old Freeview box on Ebay. |

If you get a direct replacement off eBay, check that the "dead" one doesn't
still work with the new PSU. Another thought is I wonder if it suffers from "dead capacitors"? If you Google for "badcaps" you will find that routers and PC motherboards suffered from a batch of poorly made capacitors. If the same brnad is in the Sagem, perhaps they've died. Paul DS.
