Freesat HD LNB feedthrough

Some boxes are fitted with LNB in/out connectors. Has anyone here experience
of using that configuratioin with a regular Digibox?

I was trying to find out how to use a Freesat box with a Sky box in a recent
thread, "Infrared remote switching of my dish between Freesat & Sky Boxes?".
You can get something called a smart priority switch for about £10 if
neither box has an LNB out and, like me, you can't get a second feed from
the LNB. But as for using LNB out like the Grundig GUFSAT01HD Freesat box
has, I have no idea. I downloaded the Grundig manual but it makes no mention
of what to do with the LNB out.

What we need to know is, can you run a Sky Digibox from the Grundig
GUFSAT01HD LNB out? Does the Grundig allow another box connected to it's LNB
out to take over the provision of LNB power supply, polarity switching and
22kHz switching? If so does the Grundig have to be switched off, or just put
in standby? and most importantly, does it seamlessly hand over the provision
of LNB power supply to another receiver box without the possibility of
damage to the LNB through voltage spikes etc? What happens if you have both
boxes switched on at the same time?

I have three satellite receivers connected to an active
splitter. Only one can be powered on at a time for things
to work properly.

Otherwise there are no problems.

Grundig don't seem to think it's possible. From their UK website FAQ:
Q. Can I connect more than one freesat receiver to my satellite dish?
A. Yes you can. You will need to have an LNB fitted that has more than one
connection. LNBs typically have 1, 2, 4 or 8 connections. You will need one
connection to the LNB for each freesat receiver.

Others report the digibox working happily as a slave to the GUFSAT, with the
latter in standby.
