Just installed my Zenith Converter from Radio Shack and was amazed at the
improvement over the tuner in my Sony 42" RPTV. This TV was manufactured in 2004 and the tuner is so bad at handling Multipath that for all practical purposes, all I have is a monitor. I suppose if I was line of site, it would have had a better chance at working. I am Northeast of Seattle approximately 22 miles on the average from the broadcast towers and shooting through many close trees. The Sony locked on about 8 stations but received them so intermittantly that we had switched almost entirely to analog. The Zenith tuner locked onto 33 (including subchannels) and I haven't seen any dropout from any of them in 4 days. The new generation chips are incredibly better!..... Jim in Seattle |

Your Sony tuner receives only analog channels while your converter receives digital channels only. Cass |

Yup....ATSC no doubt about it. Anyone with a generation of HDTV with a
built in ATSC tuner is probably having the same issue. How does that make you feel? "G-squared" wrote in message ... The multipath here must be pretty tame as we have no issues on the Samsung or the 3 ATI HDTV Wonder cards (mid 2004 introduction) GG |
