In many cases it is. Only a fool would think paying more for something
will get you a better product. Each item should be judged on it's own
merits. That old "you get what you pay for" went out the window 50
years ago.

HMM then I better trade my BMW for a chevrolet.

Might as well. But then you won't have the prestige of saying you drive a
beamer. Or is it beemer. Maybe bummer when you look at your wallet.

Such as "rhymes with nose"? (I love my open-box-deal JBL speakers.)

1) We're in a recession-- weak dollar and a fuel price crunch.
2) It's not HD-DVD, which was at a lower price with their hardware.

This can't be good new for Sony!

Or one could easily surmise that Christmas dollars jacked up the
buying of blu-ray in January. 3 month sales numbers are meaningless.

Sorry, but we're not in a recession. The growth is slowing, but the
US GDP grew by 0.8% in Q1 of 2008. A recession requires 6 months of
NEGATIVE growth, hence the term recession, as in RECEDE.

The GDP is a deceptive number, created ny the politicians to hide the
truth. For the real truth, find the GNP, if you can.
