Default Zenith DTT900 missing channel

My newly installed DTT900 converter fails to show the local PBS station
(WVIZ channel 25, Cleveland Ohio), but does show all the other local
stations.

The PBS station has been active on digital for quite a while, so it is
not that the station does not do digital.

I have a large amplified rooftop antenna with a rotator and I have tried
different directions and get no signal at all from the PBS station. I do
get a good analog signal for the PBS station.

I am wondering whether there is a problem with this converter, or maybe
the station has a weaker digital signal. Could the amplifier be a problem?

Suggestions?

Your local channel 25 is the NTSC (analog) frequency which you can't
receive with a digital converter.

WVIZ-DT is operating at low power (1Kw) on digital channel 26.

Look here...
http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/tvq?list=0&facid=18753
Note the Construction permit for digital full power operation.

You might inquire at the station for the full power target date.

Beat me to it. Yep, there is the problem: WVIZ-DT is at 1 kW ERP on a
UHF channel. Without a good line of sight to the broadcast tower or
located only a few miles away, it will be difficult to get OTA.

The DTV status entry in Falcon_77's DTV Transition summary spreadsheet
(available on avsforum.com at
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=823166) says for WVIZ-DT:

"Currently operating under an STA of 1kW. CBS radio had prevented access
to the tower for more than 5 years. To operate on an STA on the side of
the tower once the new lease is approved. Final, top mounted facility
will not be completed until between 2/17/09 and 8/17/09. - CP granted
for revised facilities at a new location (appears to be the WKYC tower)"

WVIZ-DT post-transition allocation is 170 kW on UHF 26. Contact the
station, but it appears that WVIZ-DT will not have a full power digital
signal until spring or summer of 2009. Not all stations will have a full
power digital signal on February 18, 2009. There are some that won't be
able to cover their market until 3-6 months after the analog shutdown as
they have to put up new antennas & transmitters.

Can you get WEAO-DT PBS 49 in Akron which has a 180 kW digital signal
on UHF 50?
