Set up an NTSC camera to watch your HD screen, and connect it the VCR!
Or, y'know, do what some of the other guys said, whatever. J. On Wed, 19 Mar 2008 23:46:43 -0700 (PDT), wrote: Hello. Recently, I bought a Sony HDTV. Specifically, I bought the following TV: 40-inch Bravia S Series LCD Flat Panel HDTV, model number KDL-40S3000 Also, I have a Sony VCR with the model number SLV-N750. The HDTV, of course, has a tuner that can receive digital channels (channels such as 32.1, 46.2, etc.) --- channels with decimal points in them. The HDTV also has an analog tuner. However, the VCR has ONLY an analog tuner. The VCR can record only the "whole-number" channels, channels that do not have decimal points in them (channels such as 2, 5, 7, etc.). Is it possible for me to buy a digital tuner to add to my Sony VCR? Or, is it possible for me to buy a new VCR with a built-in digital tuner? Thanks for any information. |

Wally, THAT post has to qualify as one of the most stupid posts of 2008. Who do you think pays for everything that the government does? I dont recall voting to allow the govt. to eliminate analog tv stations, nor did I vote for the politicians who are allowing it. And even if all the money comes from us taxpayers, we'll get more benefit from vcr tuners than if the govt uses our money for a war most of us disapprove. But much of the money is NOT coming from taxpayers. The govt is going to make a substantial profit from selling these airwaves to the cellphone companies, who in turn will make a huge profit themselves by making sure that every child in school will have a cellphone to disrupt their education. The main reason there is not enough airspace for cellphones is because the majority of cellphone use is minors using them for texting, games, and other useless nonsense. Of course the cellphone companies dont care. They just watch the money roll in and laugh. Why should we all have to give up our analog tv reception so cellphone companies can make a killing, while polluting our children? The answer is simple, both the cell companies and the government will make a huge fortune. And who do you think elects these govt. idiots that keep ruining America. It's surely not the citizens.... Why in the world would you want to keep crappy NTSC? I switched to digital ATSC over 3 years ago and now I can watch twice as many channels as before and the picture quality is ten times better. But much of the money is NOT coming from taxpayers. The govt is going to make a substantial profit from selling these airwaves to the cellphone companies, who in turn will make a huge profit themselves by making sure that every child in school will have a cellphone to disrupt their education. Of course the cellphone companies dont care. They just watch the money roll in and laugh. I've never owned a cellphone nor plan to. I think it should be against the law to use them while driving. But if some parent what's there kids to have them for safety reasons I can certainly understand that. My wife was given one and the minutes expired on it before she ever used one. But you can still call 911 with it, which makes it worthwhile. She keeps it in the car for emergencies. I don't think much of our elected officials either, but they got this right. They are brand new and have no tuner of any kind. They can be made and sold that way. |
