If they are still making VCR's with tuners, all new ones must have
a digital tuner. That began in march of last year.

===============================
Not true at all.

If it HAS a tuner it must be digital. There are a number of VCR and
DVD-R units out not that have NO tuner at all.

Yes, it is true. The ones you are seeing without digital tuners were
made before the deadline. Those can still be sold off. Read what I
said! It was clear. It is correct.

====================================
No! You are 100% WRONG!

Recorders may be made WITHOUT TUNERS! Nothing says they can't. There
are new recorders being made today WITHOUG TUNERS!

The FCC says that IF it has a tuner it must be digital.

Read what I said!
======================================

Are you a damned idiot? Do you understand the english language? What
part of "If they are still making VCR's with tuners," do you not
understand. See the comma, meaning the rest of the sentence refers to
VCR's WITH TUNERS? So you've called me wrong, and then said the exact
same thing I did. And why even bring up units without tuners? I would
think it obvious to all but morons that recorders without tuners
wouldn't have a digital tuner.

===========================
You stated:
"The ones you are seeing without digital tuners were
made before the deadline. Those can still be sold off. "

Which is NOT TRUE!

They are STILL being made!

Who is the moron now?

You are. Actually I think a moron is smarter than you. My original
statement is up above, and was referring to VCR's with tuners. And it was
correct. The statement you are referring to references the VCR's made
before the deadline having only NTSC tuners in them. Go back to school,
I'm sure your kindergarten teacher is looking for you.

Reading the newsgroups you really see a lot of dumb stuff posted. Wally,
THAT post has to qualify as one of the most stupid posts of 2008.

Who do you think pays for everything that the government does?

I dont recall voting to allow the govt. to eliminate analog tv
stations, nor did I vote for the politicians who are allowing it.
And even if all the money comes from us taxpayers, we'll get more
benefit from vcr tuners than if the govt uses our money for a war most
of us disapprove.

But much of the money is NOT coming from taxpayers. The govt is going
to make a substantial profit from selling these airwaves to the
cellphone companies, who in turn will make a huge profit themselves by
making sure that every child in school will have a cellphone to
disrupt their education.

The main reason there is not enough airspace for cellphones is because
the majority of cellphone use is minors using them for texting, games,
and other useless nonsense. Of course the cellphone companies dont
care. They just watch the money roll in and laugh.

Why should we all have to give up our analog tv reception so cellphone
companies can make a killing, while polluting our children? The
answer is simple, both the cell companies and the government will make
a huge fortune.

And who do you think elects these govt. idiots that keep ruining
America. It's surely not the citizens.... We just pay for the phony
campaigns and the billions of dollars during the hullabaloo when all
the electees throw huge expensive parties using our tax dollars.

Wally, you've got it all figured out. Conspiracy here, scam there, kids
running in the house with sharp sticks in their hands, dogs and cats
sleeping together... I think it's just amazing how much stuff you figure
out while standing out on a ledge. Hint: jump

Why in the world would you want to keep crappy NTSC? I switched to digital
ATSC over 3 years ago and now I can watch twice as many channels as before
and the picture quality is ten times better.

The ever optimist I see.:-)

I've never owned a cellphone nor plan to. I think it should be against the
law to use them while driving. But if some parent what's there kids to
have them for safety reasons I can certainly understand that. My wife was
given one and the minutes expired on it before she ever used one. But you
can still call 911 with it, which makes it worthwhile. She keeps it in the
car for emergencies.

Why should we all have to give up our analog tv reception so cellphone
companies can make a killing, while polluting our children? The answer

So what. You're getting something much better in return. So quit bitching
and switch. You'll be happy when you do.

And who do you think elects these govt. idiots that keep ruining
America. It's surely not the citizens.... We just pay for the phony
campaigns and the billions of dollars during the hullabaloo when all the

I don't think much of our elected officials either, but they got this
right. NTSC has needed to be replaced for years.

If you don't vote, don't bitch. Your representatives voted for the
whole package.

Sucks to have no control over your children, eh?

The main reason there is not enough airspace for cellphones is because
the majority of cellphone use is minors using them for texting, games,
and other useless nonsense. Of course the cellphone companies dont

What's it to you what *OTHER* people do with _their_ money? No one,
other than the government, is forcing you to fork over your cash.

Why should we all have to give up our analog tv reception so cellphone
companies can make a killing, while polluting our children? The
answer is simple, both the cell companies and the government will make

Sure, the answer is simple. Make you king! I do believe the other
299,999,999 of us would have a bigger problem with that, though.

And who do you think elects these govt. idiots that keep ruining
America. It's surely not the citizens.... We just pay for the phony

Yeah, your public schools sucked too.

There you did it again!

The ones I am talking about were NOT made before the deadline!
They are made TODAY (and tomorrow).
They have NO TUNERS IN THEM!!! not even an NTSC tuner!

They can be made, they will be made, they are in complete compliance with
the rulings.

The rulings apply ONLY to items WITH a tuner in them!
If they HAVE a tuner it must be ATSC now.
They CAN be made with NO tuner! They are still being made that way.

Can you read at all???

But the point I was making is that they do not have to have ANY tuner it
them.
There are ones available right now (and being made right now) with NO tuner.

That is the ones I was talking about and which Wes does not seem to
understand.

These are not OLD STOCK!
They are brand new and have no tuner of any kind. They can be made and
sold that way.
