How about bringing back Murray Walker?

Oz GP decades ago

MW
"Brabham is on his last lap [sounds of uneven running] and he wouldn't want
happened last time [sounds of misfiring] where he ran out of petrol
[phutting noises - car visibly slowing] on the last lap when in the lead
[car pulls onto the grass] that would be a complete tragedy [car stops],
but he should be all right this time...

James Hunt
I think he's just run out of petrol Murray.

Presumably you refer to Jack Brabham? I'm certain that James Hunt wasn't around
to commentate on any of Black Jack's races. Murray certainly was, but not sure
if he would have done so on any non-Championship Australian GPs?

This was about 1972, so there may have been someone else correcting him
then!

OK. I'm not sure Brabham was driving in the F5000 Oz GPs, but never mind.

A bit of Google and Wiki and lo and behold it was the USA Gran Prix on 5th
October 1969.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1969_Un...tes_Grand_Prix

As it happens he was chasing down second at the time, but still ended up
fourth because he had completed sufficient laps.

Still not as bad as Wolstenholme's 1966 - ||"Only xxxx minutes to go and
surely England must have won the World Cup."|| ad nauseam and then (because
he wasn't actually watching the flow of play or even which half of the field
that ball was in) with about two minutes of normal time left - "but OH
what's this Germany's scored a goal!".
