Hi. my tivo series 2 needs to be connected to the internet. rather than
plug a whole bunch of adapters, can i just one adapter like a iogear/linksys usb wifi dongle? i'd like to know from people with experience rather than use my time and some pocket change to 'try and experiment' thanks. joy. |

Do you mean something like this? http://www.amazon.com/TiVo-AG0100-Wi...79395& sr=8-1 Its not from iogear or Linksys, but setting it up with a series 2 is nearly a no brainer. I bought one as a Christmas gift for my parents and set it up for them in about 5 minutes. The toughest part was figuring out which access point was theirs out of the half dozen that Tivo found. Remembering the password that was set on the AP was a bit tricky too. ;-) |

Depends what your Tivo Series 2 (model) takes... I have 5 of them here, and 2 of them will ONLY take wired ethernet connections (ie cat5), other 3 have USB ports and can use both the wireless-g from tivo, dlink usb wifi dongle, linksys usb wifi dongle, and probably others, but I have working wireless connections on three USB units, so can't see buying any more..... |
