Default hd with antenna?

friend of mine lives in nyc in a building with no cable. some gave her a new
13" hdtv. she asked me if it were possible to hook up a antenna to her new
tv so she could watct it.
the tv is: Sharp-Aquos-LC-13B2UB-Flat-Panel

Yes, use your old rabbit ears. HDTV signals are carried on the same
frequencies as regular over the air TV.

It doesn't have a digital tuner. So she'll need an ATSC receiver for HD.
Or a cheap DTV converter box for digital SDTV. You can DL the manual here.

Not necessarily true. I'm sure a UHF antenna could improve things,
especially elimination of cliff effect, but the special antenna
argument is a salesman's pitch. That said, my Terk sucks. Go with what
you got-- if that don't work as well as you'd like, then you upgrade--
but not before.

Not necessarily true. I'm sure a UHF antenna could improve things,
especially elimination of cliff effect, but the special antenna
argument is a salesman's pitch. That said, my Terk sucks. Go with what
you got-- if that don't work as well as you'd like, then you upgrade--
but not before.

For UHF, try shortening the "ears" all the way in -- that might help.

So they are providing subsidies for boxes that only will work with
some ATSC signals?
I didn't know they even built them.
