Whereas if they had put it in the logical place, all that you would be
missing would be a yellow cup. I see you're not having any better luck
with these logo removers than me. I thought I might have been doing it
wrong or something.

Or better still not use a DOG at all! Then you could see the whole of
the picture as the programme maker intended.

As a matter of interest has anyone asked the production companies and
program makers what they think about their work being defaced?

I thought about going into my local library and ripping each alternate
page out of a book and/or scribbling over the first few words on the top
line of text on each page.
Would this be seen as improving the quality of the book and telling me what
book I'm reading I wonder?

the book and/or chapter name.....

although some magazines seem to be confusing text and graphics, making
whole pages unreadable.

Ouch.

Still, won't it be on BBC Two soon enough?

Most of the content on the BBC iPlayer escapes the channel branding,
and just has a generic transparent "BBC" logo top left. It can be
removed. They mess up interlacing on iPlayer though, so if you want
reasonable quality, it's only useful for progressive content.
