Amen? Why does those who always make the wrong decision in life always expect
someone else to come along and bail them out with 0 consequences for their
decisions? Those who bought HD-DVD made the wrong decision, live with it. Same
for those who paid more for the Iphone.

Methinks Edion will harvest a fine crop of Good Public Relations. For
example, I had never heard of them ten minutes ago. Yet, now I think well
of them -- just for this -- and I'm usually a hard-line, cynical SOB.

Speaking of the Format Wars, I heard on the radio today [Leo LaPorte, the
Tech Guy] that older Blu-Ray Players may not play some newer discs at all.
Dunno if that's a problem or a PROBLEM. Comments?

Welp, nobody's going to expect or need bailing out here for any wrong
decisions, our $200 HD-A2 will still be a fantastic upconverting player for
the bedroom setup. Our BD-1200 Blu-ray deck will be used on the big screen
in the media room.

You obviously have no business sense whatsoever. This isn't a bailout, no
one cried for nanny gummint to come in and rescue them. This is a shrewd
move that benefits everyone involved.
People will remember this goodwill action for a long time. Plus, they'll
have new players that they can continue to buy new discs for. Mo' money,
mo' money, mo' money.

People will allways remember that toshiba was ready to join the blu ray camp
in 2005 but miscroslut talked them out of it.

Part of the reason we have a recession right now is that there aren't
enough people in business with business sense like this.

Will do. . . . . . and we will also admire the hell out of Edion's senior
managing integrity.

Brilliant marketing move! How many who rush to accept the deal
will then go home and try to play their HD-DVD discs on their brand
spanking new Blu-Ray player. Hmmmm?

At least of our many, many Japanese friends, [as long-time owners of an
exporting company specializing in Far East biz with Mitsui etc, etc], NONE
of them. Believe me.
