"Agamemnon" wrote in message . uk... The BBC have placed a HUGE GIGANTIC DOG on BBC2 saying "BBC SWITCH" filling up 1/4 of the screen! Complain http://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/ I wish to complain about the gigantic DOG (digital on-screen graphic) which has been placed on BBC2 today during Falcon Beach which reads "BBC SWITCH" in HUGE GIGANTIC lettering filling up 1/4 of the screen and making it impossible to watch this programme. Unless this DOG is removed immediately I will NOT be watching BBC2 ever again and I will institute legal action against the BBC for damaging the phosphor on my TV screen by causing burn in, and demand my licence fee be refunded. This practice of defacing television programmes is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! |

But should you be watching this program?
QUOTE BBC Switch is the new brand for BBC content aimed at UK teenagers and pre- teens, from ages 12-16. UNQUOTE Complaining about branding on a program which is not being marketed at you or your peers is going to be rather futile. Have you done any market research amongst the target audience of this program to ascertain if they object to this identification? No doubt the "meeja types" at the BBC have used lots of licence payers money to do such research and will use it in their justification of the practice. And remember most 12-16 years will not care enough to complain themselves. |

Have you done any market research amongst the target audience of this program to ascertain if they object to this identification? Yes. I used to be a teenager once and if they did this in my time I would have not watched the channel in question. No doubt the "meeja types" at the BBC have used lots of licence payers money to do such research and will use it in their justification of the practice. They have done no research at all otherwise they would know that people prefer to watch programmes without DOGs and do not want their screens damaged by them. The BBC are just copying ITV and ITV are just copying the US. Why is it that there are no DOGs during commercials if this is about branding? How come they don't put the Coca-Cola logo on the screen if its the image of a brand that gets people to watch. Don't these scumbags realise that people associate DOGs with downmarket programming and therefore won't watch a channel carrying a DOG. And remember most 12-16 years will not care enough to complain themselves. More like they are no longer taught how to write letters at school and the ******* running the BBC would just ignore them anyway because of their age. |

More like they are no longer taught how to write letters at school Of course they do not write letters; they make their thoughts known about the BBC in a semi-illiterate text speak manner at BBC content sponsored sites such as http://www.bebo.COM/bbc the ******* running the BBC would just ignore them anyway because of their age. It is all part of a strategy to get people to become accustomed to DOGs at an early age, so that they will not complain about them when they are licence paying adults. |

In which case the BBC will have no viewers = no licence fee payers left, since their intention is to drive everybody away. Soon these ******s will be running adverts during the programmes themselves with the programmes shrunk down into a tiny window and the sound muted. |
