Will I be able to *watch* videos when the digital
switchover is complete on my old video recorder,(my TV isn't digital) I know I wont be able to record anything, but I've got a V+ box for that. many thanks. ------Sandra |

If it is using a Scart lead, it is just a video device. If it uses UHF re-modulation (ie. no Scart lead), then that is provided by circuit in the video recorder. Yes. You'll even be able to record, though not quite as conveniently as now. Presumably you'll be getting some method of receiving digital TV? That will have an output that your video recorder will be perfectly happy to record. |

Therefore, you should consider moving your collection to a digital format while it is still in good condition. I would have thought the main danger is that the OP's VCR breaks down - perhaps she should make sure she has a spare machine while they are still available. -- Max Demian |
