More than for Blu-ray. That is right. Just like when any product is about to go away. They try to sell as many as they can so they don't have to eat the cost. "Beginning in early March, retailer Best Buy will begin officially recommending Blu-ray as best choice for high definition movies to their customer base. ................ Companies say this. Companies go for that. It does not mean a thing what companies want and do. It's what the customers do. I have tried High Def films now. I have some. I have made a shelf for them. But that is all. It is the film that matters. The difference on a 42" screen is not enormous, as the films are scanned from old 35 mm copies. Upscaled DVD's can be quite excellent too. I shall go for the film itself first of all. HD-DVD or Blu-Ray will weigh less on the scales of decission for me. The only High Def material that will count significantly is documentaries from "Mother Earth." -- Greetings from Jens "Lyrik" Bech. |

Since the beginning of the format war, Best Buy has silently stood on the sidelines providing both the Blu-ray and HD DVD format for consumers to choose. Current sales data now shows that Blu-ray is their choice, and the retailer will soon carry the official stance that Blu-ray is best high definition format. ================================= I wonder what they will say when new discs will not work in first and second generation players that cannot be upgraded? The **** that will hit the fan will not be pretty. |

"....Blu-ray owners can continue to do everything they could in the beginning: watch movies in high-definition." I don't care about the interactive crapola, or copying anything, or a lot of the other fluff I've been hearing about a 2.0 profile - I just wanna watch the effing movie in HD. -- jer email reply - I am not a 'ten' |

Whereas many other articles all state the movie will play, you just can not use the bonus features. |
