Default Any HDDVD bargains

Is there a good place to see bargains as they appear

i've yet to see any

I need to stock up on bargains as they occur

I will continue to use my XA2 and A35 for a good long time -- until a
decently priced / quality player settles out of the bluray player choices

BD didn't add up for me either

i don't see them winning the HD market,
not with there current high priced
door stops, with copy protection, that
still don't have a final 2.0 (or whatever)
product on the market

fwiw, i have an A35

out of honest curiosity and given that you've
got an XA2, why did you get an A35?

One's in the room with my projector setup and the other is in the my main
living room with a 60 in sony setup

I now have receivers and speakers in both place to do bitstream HD audion -
one is a denon 4308ci and the other a Onkyo 605

each place also has DirecTV HD DVR and a HTPC..

I bought the A35 in the last week for about 250 -- the XA2 I have had for a
while

I would get another if the price was good

the XA2 is a bit better at several things than the A35, but not exceeding

We need our 9.99 HDDVD.

I do have a few Bluray discs and will buy those if there is BOGO or a sale
on some title I like, but I play them all from my computers that have LG
combo bluray/hddvd - dvd burners..

nice AVRs, better and more recent than my
"lowly" Denon 2307CI

which one do you like better?

is the remote any easier to use
with either of them?

i hate the remote with my 2307CI!

each place also has DirecTV HD DVR and a HTPC..

nice, but i'm not willing to pay for
that kinda stuff

Over The Air HD of Leno (5.1 in Chicago)
has been an eye opener

other than that a couple of the HD-DVD
discs that i've gotten have also been
worth it; Pride and Prejudice (2005)
being the best example (so far)

I bought the A35 in the last week for about 250 -- the XA2 I have had

memory is that my A35 was $284 roughly 2+ months
ago from Amazon, but now they cost even less

I would get another if the price was good

agreed

the XA2 is a bit better at several things than the A35, but not exceeding

yes that was the essence of my post to you

opposed to the A35, what exactly do you
like better about the XA2?

i mean the XA2 is 2nd gen, whereas
the A35 is 3rd gen

We need our 9.99 HDDVD.

i'll bite, what does that mean?

i did not think that you had any
money problems.

9.99 and BOGO -- I like deals

The XA2 just looks a slight bit better - especially if I'm running a DVD
through. The reon process really is a bit better than the Abt DCDi process
in the A35

I do not have the 1080P shutdown problem some have report with the XA2

There is suppose to be a bug in the current A35 firmware playing 1080p
that's not in 1080P/24 not sure I have seen this -- I only play 4 discs
through it.

Clearly the Denon is a better receiver 2K versu $400 for 605 but this the
605 does well and is good AVR --

Tell ya what, stand outside your local Best Buy and ask people if they
know what Blu-ray 2.0 is. If you get one, I'll be surprised.

For that matter, the majority of mass market buyers care very little
about copy protection either. They buy discs to play, not copy.

Competition leading to lower prices, and titles will sell Blu-ray. It
may never be what DVD became, but I'll bet it's way more of a niche
market than LD ever was.

And those who do will likely be carrying PS3's under their arm.

Welcome to HD-DVD Land, where "all the Blu players don't work". 9_9

I meant to say ask 10 people. Ask enough and you'll certainly get one
here and there, but the point is, the only people who really care are
those who are videophiles. The general public just wants an affordable
player and a healthy catalog, both of which are forthcoming.

Yeah, I know--Was just taking a few random potshots at the HD-DVD camp's
desperate clinging to their last 2006 hope of "Blu is a failure, because
none of the standalone players work!...Oh, and those game machines don't
count, 'cause they're, like, for gamers!"

(Um, *I* didn't buy a standalone S300, did you?--Show of
hands?...Anybody?...Bueller, and that's on Paramount anyway??)

Bull**** and an outright lie. I asked them about that and they ARE ordering
more.

Where is your source?

Oh, well, as long as you're asking:

The Now, as is the usual procedure with pro-HD responses to Bill
Hunt bulletins, we will paint a nice big target on the messenger for you
to attack.

Rumour mill, what an appropriate name for that page!

You know, FUD postings by Sony shills on a site well known for the Betaray
bias, hardly count as "evidence"! If that is all you can show for your
pathetic efforts to spread Sony's misinformation around, I feel sorry for
you... must be hard work earning those dollars Sony pays you to seed forums
and newsgroups with falsehoods (yes, I did see all the other crap you are
posting all over the net!)
