Default Scart problem

My previous setup was:

scart connection from sky+ digibox to TV and similar to a DVD recorder.

I was not able to record Sky programs to DVD. (I also couldn't switch from
an ordinary TV channel to the Sky channel without switching off the TV
first.)

I was told I needed a scart adaptor. I bought a Scart Multiway box with
switch (and four outputs, labelled Scart A, Scart B, Scart C, and TV
monitor, and side labels A/B, C, C-A/B-A, RGB).

Any clues as to how to set this up? The obvious choices either didn't work
or left me in the same position as before.

My second problem - now - is that I retuned my TV and the Sky picture, which
used to be perfect, now has noticeable diagonal bands across the screen. How
can I get rid of them?

Thanks.

I don't understand how you couldn't record sky with scart. IF your tv
has two scart sockets and the dvd does also, take a scart from the TV
OUT on the sky+ box and connect it to the input scart on the DVD
recorder. That way you get RGB input for the best picture. then run a
scart from the DVD output to the TV. You can then run a scart from the
other sky output to the TV's second scart socket.

To record to the DVD recorder from sky you must select the correct
input, which is usually something like AV1 or AV2 but may have
different numbers etc depending on your machine. If you set it up this
way that channel you mentioned with the bands will not be needed as
that will be the one carrying the RF signal, which is not as good as
the scart signal and doesn't carry a stereo sound signal.

It doesn't. I imagine the multiway solves this deficiency, but how should I
connect it up?

You should daisy chain the devices:-

SkyDVDTV

Connect a scart lead from the 'TV' socket on the Sky Box to the input socket
on the DVD. Then take a scart from the DVD's output socket to the RGB equipped
input socket on the TV.

Set all menus in the Sky box and DVD for RGB in/out.

When the DVD recorder is in standby it should pass the signal from the Sky box
straight through to the TV. When you wish to record from the Sky box to DVD,
select the Ext input the Sky box is connected to, and record.

My second problem - now - is that I retuned my TV and the Sky picture,

which used to be perfect, now has noticeable diagonal bands across the

You're not passing your rooftop aerial feed to the TV via the Sky box are you ?
If so, don't. There's no need.
