Default Problem with my Olevia HDTV-537H

Hi,

I just bought an Olevia HDTV (model 537H), the 37" flat panel from
Target, ordered online and delivered today. Problem is there is no
picture when the power is on. All I've done is taken it out of the
box, made sure the power switch in the back of the TV was set to "on",
plugged in the power cable, and pushed the power button on the front
of the TV. The blue light next to the front power button turns on but
nothing appears on screen. Oddly, when I turn the power off (from the
front of the TV), after a few seconds, the screen flickers and I can
see the word "Olevia" on the TV, and then it continues to remain
devoid of anything.

My question is, is there something really obvious that I'm doing wrong
here? I can still return this, but I want to be absolutely sure as
that is a big deal to box it up and get it bcak to the store.

Thanks for any advice, - Dave

You made 2 fatal flaws he

1) You bought an Olevia TV
2) You bought it from Target

Solution? Return it for a refund and buy a 60" Pioneer plasma at Best Buy and
you will see that frown turn into a big-ass smile.

That IS when the power is ON. The blue light indicates power off standby
mode.:-)

Other than turning it off? Who knows. Hook up your antenna or cable and
scan for channels. If you're using a cable/sat box, plug in the cable(s)
from it to the TV, then press the source button on the remote til it
changes to the source you have plugged in. Might try reading the manual
too, or at least the quick start guide. Oh, make sure you put batteries
into the remote.

1. Read the manual - they are shipped in a "store mode" and have to be
reset.

2. register your set at the Olevia site - You may have to download the
newest "firmware" and upload it to the set via the USB input.

3. Call or email Olevia - the info is in the manual They are very good on
shipping you a new set.
