Default Signal Booster question (was Freeview PVR Questions)

From http://tinyurl.com/2glmxw

Hi there

Given that best advice seems to be go for the Digihome DTR80
(http://www.argos.co.uk/ProductDispla...Number=5321272) I am
expecting to require a replacement booster - the one they have (and
need) is only a single - due to the stories of breakup on the second
tuner of this box using the external aerial loop.

Does anyone know if this functions adequately - Commtel
(http://www.argos.co.uk/ProductDispla...Number=5346147)

I can go for a Philex but with delivery its an extra fiver
(www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/MXSLX2G.html)

TIA
Ed

I have no experience of those exact models, Ed, but I feed 2 DTT systems
from a high-gain roof antenna pointing at Tacolneston using a 1-in 2-out
Labgear booster. I'd assume the Commtel's of a similar performance standard,
so you should be OK. Argos has a pretty good warranty system, so it's
probably safe to take a punt. Where are you, just out of interest?

Looks like they are trying to copy the Fringe design there. I've only come
across one Commtel amplifier before and it was horrible. It didn't even give
a figure for how much noise it creates.
