does 1080p really look better then 1080i? do they look the same?

They have the same resolution: 1920x1080. If the display deinterlaces
correctly they should look identical. If it doesn't, they will look
different.

Thanks, I bought a 1080I HD-DVD player hd-a3. I didnt think it was worth
paying 200.00 more for a 1080p hd-dvd player.


Only worth it if you have a 1080P television set.



And then you would still have a hard time telling the difference between
1080i and p..if any it's minuscule. Maybe on a 70" Screen you "might" see
something.

Supposedly with a 50 inch screen or less, you cannot tell. Really big
screens should use 1080P.
