Default Advanced Video Service buying experiance? Looking at Samsung, Tosh or Sony ws.

I'm looking to purchase a larger TV, not completely decided on Tube WS
or Samsung DLP and in my search for product and price I ran across
Advanced Video Service in NY, has anyone purchased from them, bought
using cash? Are they reputable, are the products new and full
warranty as there website shows? The prices seem to be a real killer
price, I dont mind getting a deal but if it is a hassle or I can't get
service then it's not a deal.

So, if anyone can comment I'd apprciate it, and if you would like to
email me direct do so at with your comments.

I am looking at either the 34 " widescreen Tosh or Sony but the
Samsung DLP look pretty inviting but Ive read so much about reliabiity
issues.. any comments or help will be appreciated.. also open to other
models.

Thanks so much.

Suggest doing extensive research regarding the devices you intend to
purchase. Include the service histories pf the particular brands you
consider dropping your $$$ for. There are other makes that may be a bit
mpore repiable thatn the LG or Samsung items. IMHO

I have found it highly questionable to buy anything over the net from
anyone in NY, as most of those "businesses" are run by scamming illegal
aliens, usually nigerians or arabs.

I try and stay away from California for the same reason, there its
scamming
illegal ASIAN crooks.

Actually, they are not run by any of these. However, you will find bait and
switch, and such kind of operations. It's worse with cameras, because they
sell gray market goods, which the official US importer will sometimes refuse
to repair, even for a fee. Be leary of stores in the 718 area code.

Having said that, there are highly reputable stores in NY. We bought an
Aquos 26GA5U for $1070, which was hundreds less than anybody else. It
arrived the next day. Shipping was a reasonable $38. They put the Sharp box
inside their own box. Check out
www.bhphotovideo.com .
I shudder to think what the shipping on a CRT projection set would be.
