I'd like to be able to do side-by-side comparisons of 40" to 60" HDTVs in
plasma, lcd, dlp (and crt, if any are still marketed) with signal sources from OTA, Cable and Satellite. Do any of the big box stores go to such efforts? -- Tom in Bristol...please laugh with me, not at me...I know it's a lot to ask. |

Do any of the big box stores go to such efforts? Ha ha ha ha!!! Sorry, I had to get that out. Unfortunately, I doubt you will find any store that will go to that extreme to show you what is available. Besides, there is such a difference between cable companies, if you go that route, that what you get in the store may not be the same as in your home. Go for a price range, look for a store that has several tv's to choose from, and let your eyes be your guide. They'll tell you you have to get the HD package from the provider. -- Want the ultimate in free OTA SD/HDTV Recorder? http://mythtv.org My Tivo Experience http://wesnewell.no-ip.com/tivo.htm Tivo HD/S3 compared http://wesnewell.no-ip.com/mythtivo.htm AMD cpu help http://wesnewell.no-ip.com/cpu.php |

Anderson's TV of Santa Clara, CA has a wide selection of sets side by side with various input signals including OTA, last I was there. |

The Best Buy store about 4 miles from me has OTA connected to their HD TVs. I think a store is not going to do that unless they are in a good reception area. This particular store is about 20 miles from the stations, with a clear mostly over water path . Tam |

You have no shot....
Just go see whatever they have it hooked up to and see what has the best picture. That's all you'll get. "Tom Duwe" wrote in message ... A store simply uses a factory preset for each HDTV and you would be mostly judging factory presets of different HDTVs. |

In Anderson's, I stood between two sets I was interested in and played with both of their settings. |
