If you have a widescreen t.v., but no high definition service, do you get
the pro football games in widescreen, through cable or regular broadcast t.v.? |

Magoo...
I think IF you have BOTH Digital reception (Set top box) and a Digital receiver... You will get the TV widescreen broadcasts in Widescreen... If you have UHF/VHF analog reception... I'd guess no... magoo wrote: If you have a widescreen t.v., but no high definition service, do you get the pro football games in widescreen, through cable or regular broadcast t.v.? |

There are basically 3 ways to receive high definition (or in the case of
FOX) widescreen broadcasts. 1. local cable provider high definition service 2. satellite high definition service 3. over the air (via a high definition receiver built into your TV, or a stand alone set-top box high defintiion receiver), plus a regular antenna attached to it. Without any of the above, your TV will receive regular analog broadcasts only. "magoo" wrote in message . com... No. The image will be broadcast in 4:3 ratio. Setting the widescreen
monitor to FULL or WIDE ZOOM or ZOOM will allow you to fill the screen with the image. This only stretches the picture and you are left with football players who look as wide as they are tall. Get an HDTV source. The clarity and detail are amazing. You can't take your eyes off of it. I'm using a SONY 42" LCD Projection Grand Wega. |
