does the Samsung Model #LNT 4069 LCD TV contain the Picture in a
Picture (PIP) feature.? The reason I am writing is that the specs on Samsung's website make no mention of PIP, but Frys on line Thanksgiving Day ad says it does. I don't want to purchase if it does not contain PIP. best, Aaron |

Here is a quote from the quick reference guide: "Viewing picture-in-picture This product has one built-in tuner, which does not allow PIP to function in the same mode. For example, you cannot watch one TV channel in the main screen and a different one in the PIP screen. Please see 'PIP Settings' below for details. You can use the PIP feature to simultaneously watch two video sources." I assume (but not 100% certain) that a source such as a digital cable box or Direct TV digital receiver could be one source (not requiring a tuner), and off-the-air video would be another source that together could be displayed with PIP since only the off-the-air needs the tuner. Obviously, a DVD source does not need a tuner either. |

The remote has an unlabeled button where the PIP button is supposed to be. Whenever I tried it, it gave a message saying something like "Function not Available.) Eventually I found something (can't remember where) that showed a matrix of which combinations of input sources will work with PIP. Using one of the approved combinations, I actually was able to get PIP, but it was so restrictive that it was useless. |

I did go to Samsung's website and downloaded the manual which explained that the set has only ONE tv tuner. best, Aaron Dea I assume (but not 100% certain) that a source such as a digital cable box or Direct TV digital receiver could be one source (not requiring a tuner), and off-the-air video would be another source that together could be displayed with PIP since only the off-the-air needs the tuner.
