Tivo, HDMI, and noise
I have Tivo HD (and a 46" 1080p tv set), and it seems like the picture
coming out from the Tivo HDMI source has more noise in the image than when it came directly from my OTA antenna. In other words, what used to be solid green or solid colors now appear to have tiny variations due to noise. Is this caused by the HDMI cable? Is this caused by the Tivo box? Am I imagining things? Any help would be appreciated. -- Diego

Any help would be appreciated. -- Diego Could be RF noise from an Amplifier. Just curious... at what point does a D/A conversion take place when recording OTA signals to an HD TiVo? That would seem to be the point where noise could be introduced, no? The ATSC signals are converted to analog when they hit the component or composite output connectors, completely past the recording and playback steps. -Joe
