Default Scart to component and all that...

Hi to all, please allow me to take a few minutes of your time to try
and help me understand how I can get the best quality with the
resources I have.

First off, let me start off with a short introduction to my
combination of items (I'm only going to list Video connections,
because i'm sorted for Audio):

TV - 32" CRT - 2 X SCART, RCA composite (3 phonos - one video, 2
sound), S-Video in

Marantz AV Controller with multiple inputs & outputs inc HDMI,
Component, S-Video, RCA composite, but crucially no SCART

Now, another little problem is that my Cable TV box has Scart or RCA
out

Now, I would really like to get the max out of both the TV and Cable,
and for that i guess i'll have to take SCART in (TV) and out (Cable)

I'm considering this cable (SCART to Component):

http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tv...ml?id=DwxQomzY

At the moment I've got the Cable box being dropped to phonos and the
only output i have common in the AV controller and the TV is S-Video.

so basically:

Will the quality improve with one of these cables from the AV
controller - TV?
&
One of these cables from SCART - Component from the Cable box?

I can't just go from the Cable box to the TV because then i'd need to
switch everything manually each time since I have various other inputs
passing through the AV controller (2 Consoles, a DVD player)

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer & sorry for the royal
confusion

you dont say what country you are in - but in the uk i doubt your cable box
does component out via scart.

I'm in Malta and i doubt the box offers component out through scart.
I'm not trying to improve the signal, but if I can at least get
scart's quality, i'll be happy, because that is the maximum offered by
the box. otherwise i'll just have to go with phonos
