I've got a budget of about £1k and I'd like to get a 40-42" TV.
I'm not concerened whether its Plasma or LCD nor am I worried about
what brand it is.
Has anyone got a TV of this size, how much was it and why did you
choose it?

Currently I've got a 32" Philips 9525, Liteon DVD/HDD combo and Virgin
Media box (both boxes are RGB)
Also I use a Freecom Media player which is currently connected using
composite leads but does support component. Oh and a Wii (for the kids
of course)

Any recommends?

A bit below you but Aldi are doing a Freeview 40" on Sunday for £570, but
its only 1080i. I think I'd want 1080p at that size or above.

Yeah I just got the email. I'd want some sort of personal
recommendation as I don't think i'd be willing to buy one in case it
was just OK, rather than top drawer.

Doc

Might be a bit over your budget but Pioneer, no if's no but's. Simply the
best out there.

Mel.

So Pioneer claim - in spite the fact that the PDP-428XD Kuro model is not
1080p and only 1024 x 768 pixels!

glad its working out for you. I'll take a look at the Panny's too.

Also looks awesome when connected via VGA to my laptop!

Kulgan.

I'm seriously considering getting that tv for my gaming, hi-fi & a/v
room, but i have to wait til the end of May (it's my 10th wedding
anniversary present - the missus wants an eternity ring as her present)
:-)

Sounds like a very good deal to me.
