Default STB memory gone

My old Goodmans STB now seems to lose all its channels every time it is put
in standby and require a new scan on start-up.
Does anybody know if there is likely to be some sort of replaceable battery
inside? (Soldering is not a problem.) or am I be overly optimistic?

OK I was overly optimistic. Can anybody recommend a reasonably priced and
reliable STB? or are they all as good as each other these days?

They are much of a muchness nowadays (though some people prefer the
'brand' names) but this seems a bit of a bargain.
