What makes the BBC think that it is going to get back the confidence of its
viewers when the producers of Blue Peter have been deceiving their audience for decades before Phone-ingate and Pussygate, or do they think we have forgotten Petragate? Why wasn't the first Blue Peter producer sacked when she replaced the original Petra with another puppy from the same breed when the original Petra died only days after she first appeared on the show without telling the viewers who were kept in the dark until both Petra's were dead? The even went so far as erecting a bronze stature of the fake Petra in the Blue Peter garden! And how is bringing on another kitten on the show and calling it Cookie going to satisfy the people who voted for that name to be given to the cat now called Socks. It's yet another deception. It's the producers who decided to call the current cat Socks and them again who have decided on the name of the new cat Cookie, not the viewers. Cookie isn't the viewers name choice for the new cat, it's their choice for the current cat. Why are the viewers not being given the chance to name the new cat without intervention from the producer yet again? How about they sack this producer too. |

TOSS YOUR COOKIES Toss your cookies is American slang for to vomit TOUGH COOKIE Tough cookie is slang for a strong unyielding person. http://www.probertencyclopaedia.com/browse/ZT.HTM Well cats vomit and cats are unyielding so I don't see the problem. But as I said before Blue Peter has a long record of deceiving its viewers since Petragate in the time of Biddie Baxter. |

In addition to other people's suggestions, if "cookie" is said with a Northern English pronunciation it sounds like "kooky" meaning "Cranky, crazy, eccentric". -- Peter Duncanson, UK (in alt.possessive.its.has.no.apostrophe) |
