I use some 0.5m (or was it 0.3m?) flat SCARTs that I got from CPC (I
think). They're fully wired for RGB and cost about £1.30-some each.
Highly recommended.

I fear that at least two of the above parameters are, to some extent
mutually exclusive,
but can anyone suggest the best compromise?

I'm basically trying to sort out the rats nest behind my TV, and I want some
reasonable quality SCART leads to interconnect DVD, Cable box, VCR and TV.
The ones I have at the moment are about 6ft long and 1/2" in diameter.
Looking for something shorter (1-2ft) and a bit more flexible, so I can
bundle them together and make it all look nice and neat (in case you didn't
guess, I'm on a mission for SHMBO).

Any recommendations gratefully received!

Try Cable Universe, which I have always found to be excellent.

Them's the puppies.

Do you think... (anybody can answer this) that those ^ are better than
these v :

Judging by the photo they're identical. At least, the CPC photo looks
exactly like what I've got plugged into my telly right this moment.

I've never used flat SCART cables before, any issues or problems that I
should be aware of?

Eeerm... You lose a bit of length if you have to twist one end 180 (due
to awkward dupside-own SCART sockets). And that's about it. Picture
quality is just as good as the gold-plated oxygen-free unidirectional
ultra-shielded Signature Edition £500 things that shop salesmen try to
convince you to buy.

Thanks very much for your help. And mega-speedy replies! Will probably go
for the CPC ones then as they are a bit cheaper (dispite the sneaky
'handling' charge that suddenly appears on my order when I go to the
checkout.

What! Are you saying that cables such as that are... are a ... rip-off??!?
;o)

Loss in length should not be a problem, most of the sockets are only about 6
inches apart

I can attest to the fact that some cheap SCART
leads do appalling things to signals.

A while ago (ages, actually) I bought
a VCR which came complete with a
freebee scart lead.

The picture quality on playback was so bad
I called the repairman out, thinking I had
a faulty VCR.

He took one look, went to the van,
returned with a different scart lead,
plugged it in, problem solved.

I obviously wasn't the first :-)
