I've noticed that ITV3 (from Mendip) is misbehaving on my Humax PVR9200T
this evening. When you switch to the channel, the first 10 seconds are silent. Then there's a half-second blanking during which the sound arrives, after which all is back to normal. If I try to record, however, the recording is completely silent. In the past the channel has always been fine. It's the only channel which is misbehaving, and I've just done a complete rescan to see if that corrects it -- nope. Any ideas? Matti PS I've also noticed that the EPG for ITV3 is completely empty, unlike the other channels. |

That's in the range of channel numbers which seem usually to be used for the BBC's MHEG red-button channelettes. The Radio Times lists ITV3 as channel 10 throughout the week. I've just done another rescan and channel 10 is still the defective version of ITV3 described above. However, there's another ITV3 on channel 800 which works perfectly and so does its EPG. What the hell is going on? Who can I complain to? Matti |

The Humax, from its System menu, tells me that both these versions of ITV3 are being carried in the mux on analogue channel 55 from Mendip, so presumably that mux's structure is currently incorrect in some way. I don't think resets or rescans on the Humax will help further. Matti |

Have you followed the excellent advice from Mark? A |

Have you followed the excellent advice from Mark? I'm not sure what he meant by "a complete re-set", unless it's reverting to the factory settings. This will, I think, clear out my recording schedule, which would be a pain to re-enter. Given that I've had the Humax for a couple of years and hence lived through plenty of channel reconfigs without this problem, could it really be required? Matti |

I meant a complete tuning re-set, I'm not familiar with your machine though. In Hummy-speak perhaps 'Default Reset'. It seems that a 'rescan' preserves existing channels and adds any new ones; I'd assumed it cleared them all down and started afresh. The simplest solution to my ITV3 problem was to delete that duff version on channel 10 before doing the rescan. In future I'll precede any rescan with a blanket deletion of all channels, I think.
