If you've got a 19" crt, you won't be happy with even a 21" HDTV because
of the difference in screen height of the widescreen TV's. At minimum,
you'll want a 23" and preferably something larger. Unfortunately they seem
to be really proud of the smaller LCD HDTV's and you can get a larger one
cheaper. I've used an Olevia 427V for about 6 months now I got on sale for
$399 at Comp USA. It works great for me and has good built in ATSC tuner.
The 527V is the same thing only in black vs. silver. So think larger and
save money at the same time. Putting money into an ATSC STB is just a
waste of money when you can get it built into the TV/monitor for nothing
extra. Walmart also sells a 26" vizio that gets top marks for about $450.
There you can get a refund easy if you aren't happy with it.

Checked www.compusa.com and www.walmart.com under monitors, by brand,
and didn't find either of those brands.

That's because they are listed under TV's since they have a tuner in them.
Here's a couple, and you can find all you want on yahoo shopping.

It seems like there are so few models that include a tuner, and they
are usually "sold out"

Look for TV's with a vga port. Not the monitor section. Most/many I've
seen have a vga port. I wouldn't buy a TV without one.

Thank you! Finally, I'm finding some stuff now... geesh, someday
these places will end up lumping monitors and TVs together possibly,
since there is a lot of cross-over now.

I doubt you'll see that. They put a premium price on it when it says
computer monitor.:-) BTW, since space is a premium for you, you might want
to consder wall mounting it out of the way. Although a single shelf
mounted on the wall would be more versitile and not leave a screwed up
wall if you replaced the TV or moved.

Also pay particularly close attention to the native resolution. Be sure
it is exactly what you want for computer use and your computer can do it.
I'm currently lookng at a 24" computer monitor in 1920x1200 (16:10) which
has much more pixel density than a typical 32" TV set that might get used
as a computer monitor because it has a VGA input.

Also, for computer use, a video card with DVI or HDMI output connected to
the HDMI input of the monitor or TV could do better at keeping the pixels
aligned with the LCD grid.

TVs tend to have a 16:9 aspect ratio and computer monitors tend to have a
16:10 aspect ratio.

Adding a tuner to a computer monitor costs money. So it won't be done
very much.

Increasing the pixel density of a smaller TV to meet the needs of computer
use costs money. So it won't be done very much.

But they have done it:

I have seen (in Wal-Mart) a 19" Philips TV with a native resolution of
1440x900. Given the 16:10 aspect ratio, it was probably intended as a
computer monitor and a tuner was added.
