Default What is burn in a plasma and what does it intail?

Just got the Hitachi 42" Plasma, whith all the do and don't do it does not
explain what burning in means.
The TV looks great 4:3 standard on dish but it sucks at 16:9.
DVD look great 16:9 though.

As for your picture looking poor in 16:9 mode, have you upgraded your
Dish system or subscription so that you are getting HD channels? In HD
the picture on your set should look superb in 16:9 mode (if the material
is being broadcast that way). If you aren't getting HD stations then
your TV can only expand pictures that are intended to be shown in 4:3 mode.
