Default TopupTV/Setanta On Pace Twin DVB Freeview Box

Hi,
I have just taken delivery of a TopupTV card for Setanta Sports
Channel. I have been through all the recommended installation
instructions but my Pace DigiBox will not pick up Ch34. Has anyone any
suggestions please?
Guy.

The Pace Twin has nothing behind the slot and therefore won't work with any
sort of viewing card.

You'll find that the Pace Twin tuner will not find and store any of the
Pay-TV channels. It also has no Conditional Access system built into the
box. The Card Slot is described in the manual as 'For future use'.

You will need to buy a new TopUp compatible receiver.

Actually I think you'll find that Setanta is nothing to do with Top Up TV,
so any box that supports a subscription card should do.

But surely any DTT box will *pick up* channel 34, it just won't be able to
decrypt it?

The point is that the OP has a card and wants to watch Setanta Sports.
Telling him any box will pick it up but you won't be able to decrypt it
isn't of much use to him. Any box that is compatable with TopUp TV will
allow him to use his card and watch the sports he's paying for.

Yes TopUp TV has nothing to do with Setanta except for the same
Conditional Access system. Telling him to buy a box which is compatable
to the TopUp TV is easier for guidance than telling him which encryption
system is being used and to look for it on the side of the box or in the
Argos Book which is pointless.

There's only one box compatible with Top Up TV nowadays - the DVR they sell
for the purpose...

No, that box is specifically for the TopUp TV Anytime service.

TopUp TV will work on any receiver with the correct conditional access
systems and valid subscription card.

No-one's going to use the original vanilla Top Up TV except original
subscribers who don't want to ditch their existing box for a new one.

Top Up TV is of no relevance to the OP who wants Setanta anyway.

What is your point exactly? If he buys a box that works with TopUp TV,
his card will work. Give the guy some decent advice instead of nit
picking with me!

Default TopupTV/Setanta On Pace Twin DVB Freeview Box

Hello,
My first weekend without Setanta Sports.

Following the slot not enabled advice I got my old Phillips Freeview
box out of the loft. Did all the things required and all I get is a
black screen. It asks for my card but nothing. Finally got thru to
Setanta customer service and they advised me to do what I did again
but leave the box tuned into Ch5 and leave it for half an hour, I left
it on all day and, nothing! Tried Setanta this morning and they are so
busy they say to call back later. Is there a general problem?
Guy.
