No, it can make it slightly jerker(motion judder) as you the viewer is still running at 25fps, as the other poster replied, all sorts software correction are applied. The long term favourite was to speed up the end credits(sometimes the front ones) and fade out the sound track early. I notice recent films have the main sound music ends earlier probably for that reason. Of course in the cinema most people leave as the end credits are rolling. Monty Python played on this in the Life of Brian, when they were unsure whether to leave or not, the actual film has 2 mins of blank film before the curtain closes. |

In article .com,
DVDfever Dom writes It was one of those films where they got a 12-cert just for an f-word, since a PG in the US means box-office death when it's not a kids film and PG-13 seems to attract audiences for some reason. Never been quite able to work that one out. Why not make it an R, as aren't kids allowed into R rated movies in the US, if accompanied by an adult? Whereas they **** people off watering down stuff like Die 4.0 to a PG-13 when it should be an R. -- Sean Black |

Kids in the UK happily seek out more violent films, the internet making that possibly *without* asking an older kid to rent it, so it's something for the US market. Stupid thing is - in the UK Die Hard 4.0 is a 15-cert, and it would've been with 'mother****er' anyway. It's mad that they couldn't make two versions. -- Dom Robinson Gamertag: DVDfever email: dom at dvdfever dot co dot uk /* http://DVDfever.co.uk (editor) /* 1134 DVDs, 350 games, 338 CDs, 110 cinema films, 42 concerts, videos & news /* alfie, flatout 3, last king of scotland, life & lyrics, activision psp New music charts - http://dvdfever.co.uk/music.shtml Youtube - http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=DVDfeverDom |

I'm sure they'll be a second uncut DVD along a few months after the standard one has stopped selling well, or am I just being too cynical :-) -- Sean Black |

I know that broadcasters do run films at 25fps you would have thought they could run them in their native frame rate, but this is more like 27fps! Probably the only film that still gives me the heebee geebees. I read somewhere the woman's ribs got broken in the initial shark attack scene. They had a rope tied around her waist, threaded through a metal loop on the sea bed and fed back to shore. They would pull the rope on the beach to simulate the vic being pulled under by the shark and they pulled so hard they broke her ribs. (but everyone probably knew that). |

Last Sunday, when BBC2 shoved Titanic into a 6pm slot so as to kill time before Rome started, I saw bits of it and noticed it was edited so Bill Paxton's crew member had re-recorded his line to say "You're so full of it, boss" ('it' instead of '****') - which at least is better than someone else later re-recording it ("Yippee-kay-ay, kimosabe" anyone?), but later on as the iceberg hit there was uncensored "*******" and "horse****". I remember years ago when ITV first showed 'Aliens' and they redubbed all the sweary bits with an English actor/actress doing a very poor American accent. Truly dire. |

The worse example of this I can remember was in Wall Street where Charlie Sheen's character is discussing selling his flat with the real estate agent lady. The line in which he swears was dubbed so badly it wasn't even close. |
