DVD OUTPUT HELP

We have just bought a new HDTV, a toshiba crt rear projection. I have
a toshiba sd v290 DVD/VCR combo hooked up via component cables.
However when we play back dvds it seems to be stretching the picture.
The TV aspect is set to standard 16:9 yet i cannot find how to switch
the output aspect of the dvd player.

Go into the DVD player setup menu and look for video settings. Change
the TV type to 16x9 widescreen.
