My Panny has been showing some awful programmes lately, games shows,
reality TV, soaps, BB and the like. Would a new aerial help?

Yes, but it must be a digital aerial!

Yes, but it will have to be a digital one. Expect to pay about £250.

If you are not in Bill's catchment area you should gracefully decline his
outline quote and go for one of the new fangled satellite dishes. It will
not enhance your property quite as much as a brand new 4x4 parked in the
driveway but it will do wonders for your newly discovered hobby of masochism
and conspicuous consumption.
I believe it is possible to sign up for more than £500 per year for a far
greater number of trash channels than you could possibly imagine. The upside
is that you will still be able to catch the news and weather exactly as you
can at the moment or is one of the minor stations missing?

I have a Panasonic and it's been showing some quite good stuff recently.
Yours may be faulty.

You don't need to go to that much expense. An air gap in the aerial
down-lead is all that is required.

You need to tune it into some different channels.

Try UKHistory BBC4 etc.

BB and the like

I have to admit to being a convert to BB!!

It all began so innocently.......

I saw the first one, couldn't believe it, and followed on.

Boy, do those people deserve each other, even the twins, who plumb
amazing new depths of shallowness even the others can't match. But at
least _they're_ happy! The others are twisting in the wind, and very
amusing it is.

And some of the more tongue in cheek edited segments are hilarious, at
least some of the producers have a wonderful sense of comedy.

Catch the one about the twins popping up all the time in awkward spots,
like attempted knee-tremblers in the shower, quiet but lethal infighting
in the caravan, etc.

I have to admit it's been alost the only watchable thing on the box
recently. sigh

Get yourself a PVR http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_Video_Recorder
then record only the shows you want to watch. Apart from real live events
e.g. concerts, footy etc we never watch TV on the fly. On the flip side,
watching recorded TV all the time makes watching the occasional advert or
shopping channel surprisingly interesting viewing. I never thought I'd say
that :-)
