On the other side I can't sympathize with all the people, who knew from the media in the 70s, that there is global warming, but still build their houses in unsecure areas. But there has been a conspiricy to hide information from the public. Look at an ordanance survey map of Chelmsford and follow the river to the east. In a 1970s edition you will see the area clearly marked "Chelmer Flood Plain", current edition now calls it Chelmer Villiage. |

Well with the latest carbon footprint governments adverts say we have a problem, and they are very similar to the Aids gov infos in the 80s Remember it was the government that gave us "peace in our time" in 1938, Mass death by Aids in 1986 and now global warming. I have a book here "Population, Resources and Environment" first edition published in 1969 IIRC that reckoned the world would be in crisis from overpopulation at least a decade ago. The history of doom-mongering is full of such tales. I'm confident the same will be shown to be true of AGW before long. Graham |

Graham we are overpopulated now, so we probably were ten years ago, so that sounds accurate info. to me |

Are you confidently predicting that atmospheric CO2 levels will spontaneously decline to pre-industrial levels, or that the global mean temperature will mysteriously fall or stabilise as a result of... what, exactly? What similarly compelling scientific evidence to that for AGW was adduced in support of any of the previous "doom-mongering tales", do you think? |

Graham Obviously, since we turn our excess food into gas. -- An ignorant person is one who doesn't know what you have just found out http://OutSourcedNews.com The problem with the global warming theory, is that a theory is like a bowl of ice-cream, it only takes a little dab of bull**** to ruin the whole thing. |

Yes, and it's got sod all to do with global warming. The areas in question have been flooding regularly for many decades. Of course, before the area was built on, nobody really cared. -- Cynic |
