Hi...I am trying to do a timed record with a JVC DR-MV5SEK DVD
Recorder from a freeview (digital channel). The TV is a JVC LT-20DA6SK. We set everything up to go with the timed recording interface on the DVD recorder. Then we turn the DVD Recorder to standby. We have the TV playing out the channel from which we hope to record. However, when the recording time starts, the DVD does kick itself out of standby, and starts recording, but the recording comes out blank. We have tried every possible SCART combination with no success. We are running to SCART cables (one from TV out to Recorder in, and one from Recorder out to TV in). Nothing we try seems to fix this. Anyone any ideas? |

Anyone any ideas? Are you sure the recorder is set to the right av input? Say it has two or three, which would be usual, then the right one needs to be selected to correspond with whichever scart socket the tv is sending the picture to. If the tv is inputting to av1 and you have your recorder set to av2 and so forth you're likely to get nothing but blue screen. I think most tvs only output on one scart, you should be able to find out which in your manual, it'll probably say input/output. On my sony you put the tv to whatever channel you want to output then check the av button and make sure one of the avs is showing that channel, and that will be your output channel for TV out. I think either of the scarts on the recorder should accept input, but make sure that av switch is on the right one. -- Paul (You know it's just your foolish pride) ------------------------------------------------------- Stop and Look http://www.geocities.com/dreamst8me/ |

Anyone any ideas? Does your TV have a timer record function? If so, you have to set that to record, and that will send the channel you choose to the appropriate scart socket. You then set your recorder to record from that scart connection, or if your TV and recorder have TV-Link or something like that, the TV will start the recorder for you. HTH. -- Ian |
