Golly gee! Seems like all the prime time high definition television
shows in the U.S. are police shows like CSI. GOSH!

Why are you posting this to rec.travel.europe?

Not really. It's the way of things.

Yeup. Like rising sea levels for starters. Some say that 5 to 10 feet
rise will happen in about 5 years. A few others say that the Greenland
Ice sheet may slide off into the ocean and jack up the levels to over 60
feet in possibly three days time to do it. All depends on which
castastrophe one wants to weigh in on.

Sure - an meteor may strike you dead, or you may be the gateway for avian
flu making the jump to a human pandemic, or you may be the first
scientifically documented case of spontaneous human combustion.

Some evidence that the USA is becoming a police state:
http://home.comcast.net/~plutarch/PoliceState.html

Maybe everyone should move to the UK where there's a video camera every
50
feet or move up to Canaduh.

It's going to be like that in Schenectady, NY, pretty soon.

Those of use NOT into public indecency have nothing to fear. Obviously,
secumlib DOES have something to fear. Clue: if one is NOT breaking the law,
the is nothing to fear from security cameras.

Well done, you just posted one of the most clueless posts ever made to
usenet! The shallowness of your thinking makes a rock seem insightful.

Hadron, while you're usually an arse, on this point I totally agree with
you. There are far too many CCTV cameras around. The scary thing is, we
don't see them, and we know nothing of what is being recorded about our
daily lives. Law-abiding or not, I don't necessarily want total strangers
to me spying on my day to day life.

Even though they are occasionally useful in helping to identify criminals,
I still think their proliferation in recent years in not a good thing.
It's fine while you have a reasonably honest government, but that may not
always be the case.

Personally, I haven't decided one way or the other when speaking of Global
Warming. There's so much dis-information flying around that it's hard to
make an informed decision.

The one data point that really, really disturbs me is... current co2
consentrations in the earths atmosphere is less than 0.03 percent... How is
it possible, that tiny amount of co2, can cause so much harm?
