I see the inevitable decay of BBC's broadcasting standards has
extended to programme content with the newspapers reporting that
Catherine Tate is expected to be Doctor Who's new assistant.

This will probably lead to scripts such as;

Neil Tennant: We need to reverse the quantum polarity matrix.
Catherine Tate: I'm angry!
Neil Tennant: Oh no - run out of drogna!
Catherine Tate: I'm angry!
Neil Tennant: Look, a fluffy bunny. Ahh, I love fluffy bunnies.
Catherine Tate: I'm angry!

Heck.

And what's the bloke from the Pet Shop Boys got to do with
anything. ;-)

Yes that's another change I'm afraid - and the Tardis is to be
redecorated in knotty pine.

Please no. I can't stand Catherine Tate. Can't the BBC just keep Kylie on
for the next series?

On the very same BBC news page that says audiences are looking for *new*
ideas they announce that they have resurrected an old one.

It'll be a bit of a problem as she'll be dead. Sorry and all that.

They have to employ someone who cannot act to make the rest of the cast
look better. The target audience of 10 to 14 year olds will not notice
