Default HDTV setup

I just bought a Westinghouse LCD HDTV. It's in the middle of the
scanning phase where it scans for all available channels. It scanned
the analog channels just fine but when it got to the digital channels
it stopped after scanning about 5 of them. The progress bar has been
frozen at 84% for almost two hours. I read where it can take a while
to scan all the digital channels but this is ridiculous. Is this
normal and if it is how long does it usually take to complete a scan?
I have Insight Cable.

Thanks

The ATSC (digital) channels come from an OTA signal. So unless you have an
antenna connection, you're not getting any digital signals to your TV.

Insight Cable outputs analog. The "HD" part will be carried from either
component or HDMI cable from cable box to TV.

Default HDTV setup (Problem solved)

It was just a damaged cable. The cable leading from the DVD player to
the tv had apparently developed a short and the signal wasn't coming
through properly.
