I have a Freeview box (BT badged Netgem) that gives a signal strength,
quality and SNR reading for each channel. Should these readings be similar on all six channels. Geoff Lane |

I think they are all transmitted at the same strength, but local conditions and aerial configuration may cause them to differ significantly. So long as they are adequate for picture and sound without breakups, I wouldn't worry. -- Max Demian |

Some transmitters have the six muxes at different output powers, and/or some muxes are restricted in some directions from the transmitter, so it depends which transmitter you are referring to. -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. |

Are you sure, everywhere I've looked it's listed as 8kW, just as the other five ? http://www.dtg.org.uk/retailer/tx_m.html http://www.wolfbane.com/ukdtt.htm http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/reception_advice/digital_trans_guide/index.asp-region=6.html -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. |

I notice, looking at it again, that at the top of the page SC had an experimental period of transmitting Mux D at 10kW. It states the experiment has now terminated. Actually you're right, it does still list SC Mux D in the main listing as 10kW. Ummmm. -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. |
