Hi I am buying a video/dvd and its got a slot for a SD card, so what is this
all about and, is it a memory card ??

Sounds like you plug in an SD memory card from a digital camera to display
pictures on your TV, or possibly record them if this "video/dvd" can record.

On my Panasonic it is a facility to view SD memory cards with photos on it.
It cannot recoed onto one.

it.
It cannot recoed onto one.

Are you sure? On my Panasonic LCD the SD card slot can be used to view photos
BUT it can also record TV (at low resolution) to the SD-card as well!

I have a Panasonic TX-32LXD500 LCD (nearly 2 years old) and it has an
"SD Rec" button on the remote - "Setup" has an entry for the recording
quality. Obviously not a common feature!
