I haven't listened, but I bet it's transcoding. If the final encoder
has a degraded feed, then a high bitrate for the final encode isn't
going to rescue it.

Personally I find that Virgin Radio sounds dreadful, regardless of the
broadcast medium (VHF/FM included), I would put it down to the audio
being over processed, but it could be the result of various
transcoding steps as well.....

Do they still have Pete & Geoff, who used to be on Key 103? If so, that's
probably why it sounds dreadful.


Isn't the 'Pete' half of that duo, now on Radio 2 ?
