samsung remote code

Hi........i have brought a samsung LE26R71B but cannot get the sky
remote to work ie the volume control . I put the code from sky manual
0060 and no joy , if you know the code it will be appreciated.

Only the latest Sky handsets have the codes to work many of the
Samsung flat tvs. The earlier handsets generally dont, the
intermediate ones, say around a year or so old, sometimes do but the
volume button has to be pressed repeatedly to change the volume and
the latest ones do work.

0060 is indeed the code for Samsung televisions. The instructions in the
booklet are not that clear but the key thing is to loop through the sequence
a few times and eventually you should get the tv to switch off as per the
instructions.

Press "TV"

Press and Hold "SELECT and RED" buttons for about 3 seconds until
light on handset flashes TWICE

Press "TV"

Press 0060

Try "OFF" (Standby)

If nothing happens, Press "TV" then "OFF",
"TV" then "OFF" etc up to about
10 times
Dont be in too much of a hurry.

If and when the TV does go off, press "SELECT" to store the setting.

Sorry if you already know all of this, BUT.. what I said in message 4
is more likely the problem. We supply quite a lot of Samsung TV's so I
see the problem a lot.

The latest edition of the Sky handset will almost certainly work but
remember that some in the shops may be older stock.
