Default Seperate speaker systems with plasma/lcd TVs

With CRT TV sets we have to buy special shielded magnet loud speakers
especialy the center one.
Can we with plasma/lcd go back to useing good normal hi-fi speakers?

Can't see why not. As a rough test, place a magnet next to the LCD - I
don't believe it will have any affect. Sample with Plasmas.

Should be no problemm at all.
The sets do not use electromagnetic deflection and dont have a
shadowmask.

Centre speakers normally are magnetically shielded, but check the spec'.

Mine is but caused some artefacts when place directly on top of a CRT set.
A few centimetres below it was fine. Effect on plasma should be less, and
LCD should be unaffected.

Why should there be any affect on plasmas? I'm not saying there isn't, just
want to know why.

A plasma is an ionized gas, and as such it is effected by a magnetic
field. However, give that a plasma screen uses small cells I doubt that
it will have much effect.
