Default Software for Home Theater Master/Universal Remote MX-800

I have a Home Theater Master MX-800, now known as a Universal Remote
MX-800.

I have had this for years and it has worked just fine.

But now I got a new expensive AV receiver, and I need to update the
programming on my MX-800.

Then I found out the Live Update feature in the software that came
with my remote no longer works.

I went to universalremote.com, registered my remote, and downloaded
the new software.

This new software tells me that the new software I just downloaded is
out of date!!

And *NOW* I find out that you need to download even NEWER software. It
is called Complete Control Suite, available at http://www.urc.coursehost.com/.

But this software is ONLY available to dealers!!!

WHAT THE HECK!!!!

I have been screwed! I can't update my remote!!!!!!

So despite all this I tried downloading some new codes from
remotecentral.com. Of course these new codes only work with the new
software that I can't download.

This seems sort of illegal or something -- how can a company sell a
product to me, then cut it off so it no longer works?!?!?!?!

Any idea how I can get this new software, or is there some other way
to program this remote??

Thanx!!!

You can contact the retailer that you purchased it from to see if they can
provide the software or teach your MX800 the IR commands from your expensive
AV receiver remote.

Sorry I forgot to mention this -- I bought this from an online store
that is no longer in business!

Any other ideas??

That is the risk you take when purchasing online.

You can teach your MX800 the IR commands from your expensive AV receiver
remote using the learn feature with your existing software.

You need to fork over the money for a new remote. Don't be cheap.
Nothing lasts forever.

What is the make and model number of you new receiver?

Denon AVR-3806

It seems to be almost the same (sound-quality-wise) as the top-rated
4306 but was about $1,000 less.

I did finally fully program my remote by painstakingly teaching it all
the commands I use, adding in Macros, etc. And since it has RF, I can
adjust the source and the volume, etc, in my Zone 2 bedroom/bathroom
speakers, when I am in the other room. Pretty dang nice!

If you want the codes I can send them to you for all three zones, let me
know.
