hi ..
like many hundreds of thousands of licence fee paying folk in the Uk who watch freesat channels on a standard (non sky) satellite reciever. i sadly miss the advertising based C4 lineup including E4 ! I gather that the only reason we cannot currently get C4 and other related channels is because Sky has a contract which apparently lasts until 2008 which allows it to effectively stop me (and everyone else watching Freesat ) from watching it .. SO MUCH FOR ME EVER HAVING A SKY SUBSCRIPTION IN MY HOUSE! sorry to shout but i do feel quite resentful about this! Does anyone happen to know the exact date when the heavy Sky shackles fall off C4s advertising based channels lineup ends tia p |

C4 is now available on Irish cards but a number of US programmes are blacked out for this reason. If they went FTA they would have to stop showing those programmes completely. -- |

No they are contracted - they did a deal to get out of paying sky EPG fees so it is their own fault. |
