Yes, OFCOM insist on it, but before the PIN business started Sky didn't
show adult-rated films before the watershed. Now they are using the PIN
as an excuse to do so, with the result that they can't be recorded on
anything but Sky+. I suppose this could be deliberate, but I think it's
just the same mindset as the BBC, who have been pretending that video
recorders don't exist for the last 25 years.

given that they now 'theme' their channels, what would they air on their
horror channel between 5am and 10pm? - other than an overdose of sci fi.

given the low price of a sky+ box it's beyond me why anyone would settle for
a regular sky box if they are a film subscriber.

I live in an apartment block that has only a single feed to each apartment.
So I cant make use of the watch and record ability of Sky+. I was waiting
to see what happens with the possible upcoming change to this (as mentioned
before on this group), plus I was also mulling over how good the new BT
Vision was.

Right now, I just feel that the selection of movies shown in the new Sky
Movies is not as good as the old Sky Movies.

Before the PIN business started Sky COULDN'T show adult-rated films
before the watershed and had to fill the daytime hours of the movies
with largely inoffensive made-for-TV daytime pap.

I guess you already know but to clarify for others living in flats with
only one Sky digital cable - you can still use the record function of Sky+
but can only watch one channel at a time, i.e. you cannot record and watch
a different channel.
