Cancelled Sky subs about 3 months ago after being a loyal subscriber for 4
years - the calls from Sky to come back started within a week, but held out for a better offer - think what I got today was good - Free Sky+ box and installation within 4 days £25 credit to use against PPV events/movies First three months subscription at 10% off No new contract to sign (ie. no new 12 month tie-in) Apparently if I cancel, at any time with a months notice, the Sky+ box is also mine to keep. Not bad! D. |

It will be yours to keep from the minute it arrives in your house. Sky don't rent hardware. Not bad! Indeed, but I'd've preferred £25 hard cash, not "credit to use against PPV events/movies". I am not sure they have the ability to ring-fence account credits. Likely they just put it on your account and want you to think it is for movies/events. |

Indeed and good advice. Make sure when the installer arrives you do not sign anything that relates to a contract period. Cross out if necessary! I would be surprised is the info provided was anything other than bad salesmans tactics - with the onus being on you to prove what was spoken. Put it another way. If this is correct, you can cancel after day one and sell the box. Does that sound like something $ky would leave themselves open to? Hopefully for your sake, they have! Ive just cancelled my sub, after being offered a free sky+ box and install. If the box was new or a refurbed new model, I would have taken it. As it stood, they could have supplied one of the old boxes with limited recording on it. Not what I wanted! |

Not bad! D. Been with Sky for 7 years on the 21 quid a month package[we can't get Freeview or a decent analoque signal here in the Borders] so we have to go to Sky. Are you saying if I cancel they will come back with an offer to replace it with Sky+? I suppose if I cancelled and they didn't come back I could always go back to them. Also their receiver has long since died so if they do install Sky+ will they demand my receiver as I've just bought another new one. Appreciate any help. Thanks |

Not bad! D. Forget all I have said! yesterday I phoned up to cancel Sky,whilst on the phone I was offered a new[12 months guarantee] Sky+ box no installation fee,all set up and running for the price of 49Quid. I also reduced my payments from 21Quid to 15 per month. It's poss others may have a better deal but I'm pretty happy with that. It's true I know nothing about Sky+ but 40 hours recordingon a HDisk will do the job for me.Regards. |

Fair enough. I also reduced my payments from 21Quid to 15 per month. Good man! That's the main benefit - you're giving them £72 a year less, and I bet you won't notice the difference. I will! it will buy a new putter!Regards "American Indians and the Irish are acknowledged as the worlds greatest lovers" "Geronimo O'Reilly" |

Those events were my main reason for subscribing in the first place so I may strategically cancel. Stan |
